Terms & Conditions
1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS
When the parent enrolls the child in the school, it is deemed that he/she had READ,UNDERSTOOD and ACCEPTED all the terms and conditions of the school website and /or school diary.
2. RIGHTS RESERVED
All terms and conditions and the school fees mentioned on the school website and/or in the school diary are valid for the relevant academic year only. The school reserves the right to amend any of these fees structures or terms and conditions for any subsequent academic year.
3. SCHOOL COMMENCEMENT & VACATION PERIOD
a) The academic year of the school shall commence from 1ST April. (Academic term -1ST April to 31ST March) The school reserves the right to amend the commencement date.
b) Vacation period- 9 weeks long vacation will be spread over the month of June and December, commencing on the first Monday of the month. The school shall observe all Malaysian public holidays and also will be closed on the 15th August (India's Independence Day) and 26th January (Republic Day)
4. FEE PAYING AND DEADLINES
a) All School Fees are to be paid before the under mentioned payment deadline dates. Each Academic year consists of 3 Terms, and each Term consists of 4 months.
TERM 1
(1ST April- 31ST July) - 15TH March (Before the commencement of the Term)
TERM 2
(1ST August – 30TH November) - 15TH July (Before the commencement of the Term)
TERM 3
(1ST December – 31ST March) - 15TH November (Before the commencement of the Term)
b. Payments can be made by cash or via Bank drafts or cheques or credit card. Payment via bank draft or cheque shall be made out in favour of "GLOBAL INDIAN EDUCATION SDN BHD. Payment via Credit Card will incur 3% administrative surcharge.
c. Payment via Telegraphic charges is accepted. Payment can be transferred to MAYBANK BHD, Kuala Lumpur, in favour of "GLOBAL INDIAN EDUCATION SDN BHD" for the Account No: 5140-5760-4066.
c. The above mode of payment is accepted for sale of books or other stationary items from the book shop.
d. Late payment charges - is applicable on all school fees payment if they are not paid before the deadlines. Surcharges will be applied to all late payments and the school will NOT entertain any reasons for late payment. The surcharge will be:
I) Within 15 days past fees deadline - RM20.00 PER DAY
II) After 15 days past fees deadline - RM50.00 PER DAY
e) Administration charges - RM200.00 will imposed for unsuccessful fee transaction or cheques that are not honoured by the bank for any reasons.
5. ENROLMENT, RE-ENROLMENT AND SIBLING BENEFIT
a) ENROLMENT -The enrolment fee is RM600.00 for KG 1 & 2 and RM3, 500.00 from Year 1 onward per child. Children moving to Year 1 from KG 2 will have to top-up the fees paid to RM3, 500.00.However, there will be a 25% discount on the top-up of enrolment fee. The amount payable on the enrolment will be RM2, 175.00.
b) RE-ENROLMENT - Students who re-register with GIIS after 2 years of leaving school will receive 25% subsidy on the prevailing enrolment fee only. Student will be required to take the admission aptitude test. They shall pay the prevailing Aptitude fee. Students on inter GIIS school transfer shall not be required to pay enrolment fee nor aptitude test fee.
c) SIBLING BENEFITS –Applies only on the TUITION fee - Sibling subsidy of 25% on the tuition fee ONLY for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th child is given automatically. No subsidy is given any other fees such as school fee, building fund, activity fee or enrolment fee.
6. DEPOSITS & DEPOSIT REFUND POLICY
a) FAMILY – refundable deposit is RM4, 500.00 per family. The deposit shall be carried under the younger sibling’s name. Should the younger sibling is in KG 1 or KG 2 then RM4, 500.00 will be paid under younger sibling’s name and the deposit of RM2, 900.00 shall not be applicable.
b) Deposit fee refund policy – When the child leaves the school, the parents are required to give a compulsory 3 month withdrawal notice to the school. During this 3 month notice period, the child should attend the school and would have to pay all the applicable fees in full. If for any reasons (including parents’ transfer) the child is unable to physically attend the school or has to leave earlier, the parent shall pay all applicable fees for the entire 3 month notice period. The school reserves the right to deduct all unpaid fees from the deposit including those for the notice period from the deposit fees. The transfer certificate will be issued only when the account is settled fully.
In following cases the notice period of three months will be not imposed:
a) Transfer of job from employer and not by employee (Letter from Employer is required). Does not apply for resignation.
b) On medical grounds (Original Medical report is required – applies only for parents, child and siblings). The school shall have the sole discretion on the acceptance of the medical certificate or shall insist for an independent medical opinion or report before allowing the waiver.
7. SCHOOL BUS
a) School Bus Fees will now be Zonal
b) Cancellation of Bus Service
i) For the Cancellation of the Bus Services a notice period of 3 Month is required. Once the Bus Service is cancelled the parent can reapply for the Bus service only after a period of 6 months.
ii) The cancellation request, in the form of Bus Cancellation Form in writing must be submitted to the School Authority only and not to transport contractor or the Bus driver. The school reserves the right to ask for the counter foil of the Bus Cancellation Form.
8. LONG LEAVE STUDENT
a) A student can take long leave from school only upon a prior approval from Principal.
b) The student needs to pay all applicable school fees for the notice period of three months in case of withdrawal of student on long leave.
c) Any default on payment of notice period will be adjusted against the refundable deposit
9. PAYMENT RESPONSIBILITY
a) It is the responsibility of the parent to ensure that all school fees are paid at all times and the school may not remind them of the unpaid fees. Parents should not wait until they receive reminders from the school for unpaid fees and then make the fees payment. Late payment charges will be applicable as per admissions terms and conditions.
b) The school reserves the right to withhold examination results (Internal or external Board results) and shall prevent the student/ candidate from attending or appearing for any examination conducted by the school in the event of non-payment of any dues to the school.
c) The school shall withhold Transfer Certificate (TC) and results (e.g. internal or external examinations results) for non-settlement of any dues at the time of withdrawal.
10. MEDICAL
a) The parent/guardian shall declare to the school in writing, at the time of admission any/all serious illness, debility – physical or mental, and/or health condition and/or allergy of the child.
b) The parent shall also inform the school in writing from time to time, as and when the child is diagnosed of any serious illness, debility – physical or mental, and/or health condition and/or allergy.
c) The school shall not be held responsible for any medical exigencies that involve special medical intervention in relation to the special or serious illness, debility – physical or mental, and/or health condition and/or allergy of the child. The school shall provide emergency outpatient treatment for all medical eventualities by a qualified registered nurse.
